Jiffy Lube

On 9/16/2024 I went to Jiffy Lube 911 Greenville Ave. Staunton VA.

To get my yearly car State Inspection done.

When the inspector was doing his inspection, he stated that one of my bulbs on my rear license plate was not working.

I simply replied to please fix it, I prepared to pay him any extra needed for the repair. A few minutes later he said he could not get the bulb, so he rejected my car.

I was not happy about this rejection sticker being on my car for a bulb on my rear tag. I filed a complaint with the State Police and was contacted by an officer. The officer stated that they must remove the sticker from the car when inspected.

Fine, Im satisfied with his answer.

My question to you is, How can 1 bulb on the rear tag of my vehicle be a safety issue?? I could understand it if it was a brake light, front headlamp etc. that does hamper the ability to operate my vehicle in a safe manner.

The District manager called from Jiffy Lube on this issue, and I was told that they would order the bulb. I planned for my next day off to have them fix the issue and get a valid sticker on my car.

On 9/23/2024 I was there in the AM and het fixed the lamp and gave me my sticker.

They charged me $87.46 dollars!

You can subtract the $1.00 reinspection fee. REALLY??

I asked why so much and was told I had to replace the light assembly there was no bulb.

When I left Jiffy Lube I went straight to ORielly Auto parts and bought the REPLACE BULBS for a total of $8.41!

This inspector is representing the State Police!

Does not this Inspector have to have some knowledge of car repairs??

I believe this is a total scam!

I was lied to about a price of service so they could gain another sale. Instead of being honest about the price, he decided to lie and say it would be cheaper.

So I would agree to the service. I wouldve never agreed if I knew that specific service was that amount. I come to jiffy because I trust that I would receive an honest service. Instead of treating me the customer with basic human decency, instead I got scammed.

If I was a man this wouldve been a different story but as I am woman they prayed on the fact that I have no knowledge of cars. These type of employees that provide our community with dishonest service should absolutely be shut down. We the customers keep this business open by coming for service.

At the end of the day whats right Is right and whats wrong is wrong. That man knew what he was doing to gain a sale and its completely unacceptable!

To Mr Joseph Smith My name is Edgar Negrete and wanted to message you about fulfilling my career at jiffy lube as a crew chief and to one day go even further beyond with this company. I unfortunately had to quit the location I was working at in San Diego due to me living in my car and was getting ill due to the heat constantly in that area, I got hospitalized 3 times due to it and still contiued to show up to work because i really love working on car's all day and it's one of my biggest passions getting my hands dirty and also giving great customers the care and respect for them and there vechie.

I really see myself as a big part for this company and also want to continue pursuing this opportunity forward. I have been through the worst losing my home out there and having to leave my job because of it and I truly hope you can understand my point of view and see that I want to be someone in this company and so my kids can also see I was able to achieve a career path I been waiting for, also just want to ask you to please reconsider me as rehireable and give me the opportunity to be someone for jiffy lube Mr Smith.

Hello, my name is Darrell Stott and my phone number is 503-348-****. Let me just start by saying I have been using Jiffy Lube for over 25 years with multiple cars that I've owned.

However, about a week and a half ago, I pulled into a Jiffy Lube on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway in Portland, Oregon at 5545 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway 97221 with a little Nissan mini cargo van. It is a company rig, but we're a small business — it's not like an Amazon fleet deal or something. And, I said I just needed an oil change as it was overdue and your technician quoted me $128. I asked, 'How can that be?

I just had my personal vehicle which is a full-size Ford Expedition done about two weeks prior and it was 65 bucks. How can you be 100% more for a little van regardless of whether it's a corporate vehicle or not?' He said, 'Well, based on the VIN, that's what we have to charge for this vehicle.' And I said, 'Well, let's not run it as a VIN. Let's run it as a Nissan minivan that probably takes 5 or 6 quarts of oil — a basic vehicle.' He informed me, 'We haven't done them for 65 bucks in a long, long time,' and I told him, 'You're full of it. I've got a receipt in the glove box for my personal vehicle at home.' At that point, I reversed out of the incoming lanes and drove down the road.

I took the vehicle to a Valvoline instant oil change about a week later and was charged $79 for a synthetic hybrid oil change. I don't know what the scam is at this particular Jiffy Lube, but I will not be going to any Jiffy Lube again after this, so you may want to have a corporate representative talk to this location. I'm a 25-year customer that is more than a little annoyed at your technician apparently trying to rip me off.

What grade of oil do you use for that? Is it synthetic?

I went in to get my oil change and was discussing options with the very young person at the register. I asked about a tire rotation that was included in mitis is coupon that was sent out and if they could match that.

He said they could not and there was nothing he could do about it. Before I said well then no thank you Im going to go elsewhere they had already started replacing my oil filter and draining my oil in my vehicle. I told the manager what had just transpired and I asked why he was performing work that had not been authorized yet. he told me he would give me another $16 off.

And if I wanted my tires rotated it would be 3995. Well thats $39.95 more than I wouldve paid if I went to mitis. I said Im not happy with the results here. He said well then Im not gonna charge you for the oil change and youll be out the door.

Very rude way to put it but OK thanks for making the effort. That wouldve been fine but he could not provide some kind of receipt proving they had my oil change there in case something went wrong with my engine due to an oil problem. He did not know how to do this and gave me further attitude and I left. Two minutes later I get a call from him saying he just figured out a way how he could give me a receipt.

I told him if he cant figure out how to be a manager at this point you should look for another career.

Never going to that Jiffy Lube again. Where the *** do you train his people?

Back in February I went to Jiffy Lube on Foothill Boulevard #3090 in Rancho Cucamonga and was told there was no conventional oil but I can up grade oil for a much higher price. I declined the higher price and went to Jiffy Lube on 4th street #1936.

May 3, 2024 I went to jiffy lube #1936 and again as my car fluid were being checked Maneul said oh we do not have conventional oil only the premium oil. He said we have NO conventional oil only the premium oil! I was told I had to pay the premium price for the oil. Im beyond angry that the workers would only indicate no conventional oil only premium.

I told Manuel that I would only take premium oil if I can pay conventional price. Jiffy lube you must correct this situation for the customers as this is poor customer service running out of conventional oil and then asking customers to pay for premium oil changes.

This is a scam to build the store revenue!
